Winner of the 2009 National Championship

Lester's Snowatch
with owner/handler Gary Lester
and scout Ike Todd

To many, it may have seemed an almost perfect morning. Temperatures were comfortable, skies somewhat overcast, but an eerie stillness gave you the feeling that birds scent could be hard to locate. Both dogs drawn to run in the eighth brace were seasoned competitors. Lester’s Snowatch (Bud) had been coming here since his derby year, making this his fourth bid at the title.

Bred, raised and trained by his Kentucky owner, Gary Lester; Bud was one of five dogs being run by amateurs in this year’s championship. Bud was scouted by the talented young man from Montana, Ike Todd. Bud’s win record is impressive including three championship titles, seven runner-ups and most recently, four re-qualifying placements including the three hour National Free-for All which he won in early February.

We want to express our sincere CONGRATULATIONS to Lester's Snowatch and his owner/handler Gary Lester. GREAT JOB!!
